MRA e-invoicing Mauritius, Version 2: create an invoice, review approval roles, fiscalise with Codeblix EBS, then download, print or email the QR-code PDF.
What this MRA e-invoicing tutorial covers
Follow the complete Codeblix EBS workflow: sign in and review the Overview, choose Drafter and Approver roles, create customer invoice lines and VAT, save a draft, approve and submit to MRA, and find the accepted fiscal invoice. Then download, print or email its fiscal PDF, search the invoice list, review the retry queue and VAT sales, and explore connections to your accounting software. The VAT sales report covers output VAT; your return also needs input VAT and applicable adjustments.
Recorded with a fictional demonstration company, sample invoices and sample QR codes. The sample records were not sent to MRA. Live fiscalisation follows company onboarding and an accepted MRA response. MRA obligations follow its phased rollout and notices issued to businesses; confirm your VAT treatment with your accountant.

Welcome to Codeblix EBS, MRA e-invoicing made simple. In a few minutes, you'll create an invoice, get it approved and fiscalised, and share the fiscal copy with its QR code. First, what does fiscalisation mean? In Mauritius, every invoice you issue must be sent to the MRA's e-invoicing system. Codeblix EBS sends it for you. The MRA checks it, and sends back a unique reference, called the IRN, and a QR code. The QR code goes on the invoice your customer receives. That's your fiscal copy. Open ebs.codeblix.com and sign in with your email and password. This is your Overview. Needs attention lists anything waiting for you, like drafts to approve. Output VAT recorded shows this month's sales VAT so far. And Recent invoices shows your latest invoices, with their MRA status. If you manage more than one company, switch between them here. Before your first invoice, decide who does what. In Settings, Users, the owner adds each person as a Drafter or an Approver, and sets their password. Drafters prepare invoices. Approvers check them and submit them to the MRA. With invoice approval on, nobody can approve an invoice they prepared. Working alone? Leave approval off, and you finalise your own invoices. Now, let's create an invoice. Click New invoice. Choose the customer. Their TAN, BRN, address and email fill in for you. Business to business is set, because this customer is VAT registered. Pick the document type, and how the customer pays. Then add your lines: a description, the quantity, and the unit price before VAT. Choose the VAT treatment. Most sales are 15 percent standard rated. Click Add line for the next item. The summary adds everything up as you go. Not finished? Save draft, and come back later. When it's ready, click Send for approval. Nothing is sent to the MRA yet. Now the approver signs in, with their own account. The invoice is waiting for them. They check the buyer, the amounts and the VAT. Then click Approve and submit to MRA, tick the confirmation, and approve. A moment later, the MRA accepts it. The status changes to Fiscalised, and the invoice gets its number and its MRA reference. Click PDF to open the fiscal copy. It shows your details, the buyer, every line with its VAT, and the totals. And here is the MRA QR code. This is what makes it a fiscal invoice. Download it or print it, and give this copy to your customer. If the customer has an email address, Codeblix emails it to them once it's fiscalised. Invoices lists everything you've issued, with a count for each status. Search, filter by type, status or date, and export to CSV. Each row has Review, the PDF and a download, so any copy is one click away. If the MRA system is unavailable, nothing is lost. The invoice waits in the MRA queue, and is sent again automatically when the connection is back. Under Reports, VAT sales shows the invoices and credit notes behind your output VAT, for each tax period. It's the sales side only, so add your input VAT before you file your return. Already invoicing in accounting software? Then you don't need to type anything twice. Open Settings, then Connections. Connect Xero, TallyPrime or QuickBooks Desktop, use the API for your own system, or import a CSV export. Set the connection up once, before you start invoicing. After that, invoices you save in your software are fiscalised here, and you get the same fiscal copy with its QR code. Create, approve, fiscalise and share. That's MRA e-invoicing with Codeblix EBS.
