Privacy and Data Handling
This page explains Codeblix Ltd's current data-handling commitments. It is not a legal certification or a substitute for customer-specific processing terms.
Our Core Commitments
1. Data Minimization
We believe in collecting only what is strictly necessary. Our platform only records the data required to provide you with secure Electronic Billing System (EBS) services compliant with MRA mandates.
2. Purpose Limitation
Your data is ring-fenced for explicit purposes: invoicing, fiscalization, audit trailing, and customer support. We do not sell your data or use it for unassociated marketing operations.
3. Accuracy
We provide tools within your dashboard to maintain accurate and up-to-date business and customer information. You have the autonomy to correct information as business needs legally dictate.
4. Storage Limitation
Retention depends on applicable fiscal-record duties, active service needs and agreed customer terms. Codeblix confirms the applicable retention and deletion process during onboarding and handles deletion requests where the records are not subject to a continuing legal requirement.
Data archiving in Mauritius
Data archiving in Mauritius should follow a documented retention schedule rather than keeping every record indefinitely. For each record type, the business should identify its purpose, legal or contractual basis, owner, storage location, retention period and secure disposal method.
The Mauritius Data Protection Office states that personal data should identify people for no longer than necessary for the purpose for which it is processed. Codeblix can support controlled storage and access, while each customer remains responsible for confirming the periods that apply to its fiscal, payroll, employment and customer records. Review the official data-processing principles when setting the schedule.
5. Integrity & Confidentiality
HTTPS protects data in transit and application roles restrict access to business functions. Hosting, encryption at rest, backup and incident-response terms should be confirmed for the selected production arrangement during onboarding.
Your Defined Rights
Under Mauritian law, you are entitled to several explicit rights concerning your data:
- Right to Access: The ability to request a complete copy of your personal data.
- Right to Rectification: The ability to correct inaccurate or incomplete data sets immediately.
- Right to Erasure: The ability to request data deletion where legally permissible. Some fiscal, payroll or other records may remain subject to an applicable legal retention duty.
