Episode six. The kitchen and bar screens. Every ticket in the right place, at the right time. Tickets start on the POS. T4 has a salad, a burger, a dessert to follow, and two drinks. The waiter taps Send to Kitchen, and every dish goes to its own station. In the back office, Kitchen and Bar shows every open ticket, with T4's new order at the end. Each station has its own screen: Kitchen Warm, Kitchen Cold, Bar Alcoholic, and Bar Non-Alcoholic. Open Full-Screen KDS turns any screen into a Kitchen Display. Here is the full-screen display. T4's ticket shows the table, and a running timer. Dishes are grouped by course, each with its notes, its station, and its timing. Now means cook it straight away. To follow means the chef decides when to start. Tap a station, like Kitchen Warm, to see only its dishes. All stations shows everything again. Colours show urgency. A new ticket is red. After five minutes it turns amber, and after ten, dark red, like these older tables. Inside a ticket, each dish shows new, preparing, or ready. When the cooks begin, tap Start preparing. Tap a dish when it's done. Tapped by mistake? Tap it again, and it goes back to new. Mark dishes ready finishes the ticket. It turns green: Ready, awaiting waiter, and the waiter's screen shows Order up. A chime announces every new ticket. The speaker button mutes it. Recent orders lists the last twenty tickets, so nothing gets lost. Next: the bill, payments, and shifts.
