Episode one. Roles and users: who does what. This is Users, under Team. Everyone who can sign in is listed here. Each person has their own email login, the store they can work in, and a status: active or not. To add someone, click New user. Enter their name, their email, and a phone number. Under Store access, pick the store, then their role in it. Here, Waiter. Set a password now, or send a setup link, so they choose their own. Click Create user, and Kevin joins the team. When someone leaves, flip their switch to deactivate them. Inactive users can't sign in, but their account and history stay on record. Roles decide what each job can do. There are fourteen, from Admin to Waiter. Each one says what it covers. The Host handles reservations and seating only. The Maître D has no discount or void authority. The Stock Manager audits stock independently, with no service, settings or finance access. Open a role to see its permissions, grouped by area. The Waiter has fourteen selected, and nothing in Accounting. Some actions need a second person. The Manager role can apply discounts above the threshold. When a cashier goes over the limit, a manager approves it with their own password. Waste works the same way. Every new waste record must be approved by a different person. The Head Chef logged this spoilage, so someone else clicks Approve. That approval is now in User Activity, under Reports. The audit trail shows who did what, and when. Filter it by action, by user, or by date. Next: building your menu, with categories, choices and tax.
