What this QuickBooks Desktop tutorial covers

Make a QuickBooks Desktop backup and check your product, year and release before setting up Codeblix e-invoicing in Mauritius. See where to find Product Information with F2, create a local company backup, and confirm the saved file. Keep your QuickBooks version, company-file location and latest backup date ready for your support team. A separate disk or USB drive is safer than the same-drive location used in this sample.

Filmed with the US QuickBooks Enterprise 24.0 trial and synthetic sample-company data. Menus and compatible Web Connector builds vary by QuickBooks edition and year; confirm your version with support.

Before setup, check your QuickBooks version, and make a fresh backup of your company file. Open QuickBooks with your company file. Press F2 to open Product Information. Note the product, year and release at the top, so your support team can choose the right setup. Now make a backup. Open the File menu, choose Back Up Company, then Create Local Backup. Select Local backup, then select Next. Choose where to save your backup. A USB drive or another disk is best. Then select OK. If QuickBooks warns that the backup is on the same drive, it's safer to change the location. In this example, we keep it. Choose Save it now, and select Next. Check the file name, and select Save. QuickBooks confirms where your backup was saved. Keep it safe until setup is finished. Finally, share three things with your support team: your QuickBooks product, year and release, where your company file is kept, and the date of your latest backup.
