QuickBooks Web Connector Setup: Connect to Codeblix E-Invoicing
This earlier guide remains available. Start with the latest Version 2 walkthrough →
Add a company QWC file, review permissions and run a manual QuickBooks Web Connector exchange. The demo uses localhost; production uses approved HTTPS.
What this QuickBooks Desktop tutorial covers
Set up QuickBooks Web Connector with a company .QWC file to connect QuickBooks Desktop to Codeblix e-invoicing. Open the correct company as its administrator, choose Add an Application, review the application permissions and enter the supplied connector password. Keep Auto-Run off for the first manual Update Selected exchange. The connector password is separate from your QuickBooks, Windows and MRA passwords. A .QWC connection file is not an installer or a company backup.
Filmed with the US QuickBooks Enterprise 24.0 trial and synthetic sample-company data. Menus and compatible Web Connector builds vary by QuickBooks edition and year; confirm your version with support. The connection shown uses an isolated localhost lab, including a non-SSL authorization message. Production connections use the approved HTTPS endpoint. A completed exchange does not mean MRA accepted an invoice.

Here's how to connect your QuickBooks company to e-invoicing. Open QuickBooks, and sign in to your company file as the administrator. Open QuickBooks Web Connector, and select Add an Application. Choose the company connector file you received. It ends in dot Q W C. Then select Open. Check the application name, then select OK. QuickBooks asks for permission. Select Yes, whenever my QuickBooks company file is open. Leave personal data unticked, and select Continue. Select Confirm. The application now appears in Web Connector. Click the Password box, and type the connector password you received. Tick the application, leave Auto-Run off, and select Update Selected. When progress reaches one hundred percent and the session has closed, your company is connected.
