Choosing the right MRA-approved EBS is one of the most important decisions a Mauritius business makes. The wrong choice can mean months of pain, lost data, and MRA penalties.
The 7-point checklist
- MRA approval status: Is the provider currently listed on the MRA EBS Solution Providers PDF?
- Offline mode: Does the system issue invoices even when the MRA endpoint is unreachable?
- Hash chain implementation: Does the system implement the MRA-required hash chain correctly?
- IRN handling: Does the system store IRN internally without printing it on customer invoices?
- Credit note validation: Does the system block credit notes without a reason or invoice reference?
- Local support: Is there phone/WhatsApp support in Mauritius time zones?
- Migration support: Does the provider offer free migration from your current system?
Red flags
- Provider claims to be MRA-approved but is not on the MRA list
- No demo available before purchase
- Offline mode is "coming soon" (it is required by MRA)
- No Mauritius-based support team
